Democrats let US eviction moratorium expire, pushing millions of families to the brink
>The confluence of the rapid spread of the Delta variant with an eruption of evictions in the coming weeks bodes a social catastrophe.
https://www.wsws.org/en/articles/2021/07/31/pers-j31.html

10% of the American population thrown into destitution and onto the street in the middle of the most dangerous disease outbreak in a century and amid mass unemployment. That is the lot that capitalism reserves for workers who cannot foot the bill for outrageous housing costs, which fuel outlandish rents.

When the banks are "in need" they receive $trillions in bail outs. The poor get shown the door. But according to the DSA and Democrats, gender and race are the most important divisions in society. Yes, their hands are tied - to the levers of the capitalist system as they steam roller over 40 million working poor.

His name is France Albert Rene btw.
His irrelevance is actually caused by the fact that Seychelles is just a rather politically insignificant country in the middle of the Indian Ocean.
But he’s based though. Mercenaries were thwarted in order to bring the former leader back, back in 1981.

I'm reading The Divide right now and I keep thinking, I know Mexico is poor (have family there) but like why does everything look like absolute fucking shit

Who is responsible for the upkeep of the country? Is it ALL left in private hands or something? It seems like every other street you have a flip flop between buildings that look like pic related and some that are kind of in between and some areas that look like unironic warzones, even in major cities

That's not true, there are nice and shitty areas, just like in every single country.

A big part of the country is in private hands and most of the jobs pay little compared to the US (Thanks Neoliberalism and NAFTA!) But for the most part people in poor zones are too worried about other things to care about the upkeep of the buildings (like in every country with a certain level of underdevelopment including the US).

You're taking a picture and judging an entire country based on that, that's just plain wrong.

I've spent a lot of time just looking around in street view and most of the country looks pretty sketchy even in major cities. Only Mexico City looks well maintaned and even then….

Not really knocking the country, I've been wanting to visit with my dad the next time he goes back to the ranch. Just curious as to why so many spaces look well, beat. Most of the places I see look like commercial districts, so it's not like I'm judging people's houses. My grandma doesn't even have windows and just barely got a door, so I get it.

It's all in private hands, yes. There's a lot of corruption. So even if there is funding, things like sidewalks and streets have very high costs and are constantly being defunded anyways.

I'm not sure where your picture is, but that building looks old. I bet its in what used to be downtown of the city decades ago, and is now mostly inhabited by poorer people.
>>410690
The places that look actually nice are usually very car centric. There's obviously privilege attached to owning a car. Economic inequality is high in Mexico. So you basically end up with this shit.

So, in summary I think it's a combination of things:
- poverty

My first anticommunism tread was largely unsuccessful, so I decided to make a new thread again.

I'm a victim of anticommunism, and that is because I'm born and raised in Indonesia, which is basically a strictly anti-communist state in which such ideology was enshrined into law ever since 1966 when the only communist party in Indonesia gets banned. It's even part of education (communism alongside liberalism is considered a threat here).

My question is that, why won't you guys sympathize with and help victims of anticommunism? How do you guys respond to anticommunism? When would you guys wake up to the call of their horns?(Do not remake threads, especially don't remake your own threads)

How is value determined in the case of joint production?

Let's say, it takes 15 hours of labour on average to raise and slaughter a chicken for its meat. How does the value of the chicken's foot or wing compare to the value of the chicken's head or the chicken's feathers?

1) How do you know that cutting up a chicken takes equal effort for each cut?
2) Labor is not the source of all wealth, since nature provides plenty of that
3) someone built the building you live in. Your landlord extracting rent is based upon him possessing it as private property, a social relation enforced by their control of state power that is the same as selling your labor power for employment, but not commodity exchange at the supermarket. The value of the building is dictated by labor, which dictates the price of rent that you must pay to your landlord.
>>

 No.413223

>>412454
>1) How do you know that cutting up a chicken takes equal effort for each cut?
You know that by… doing it? What a question. Several parts of a butchered animal go for different prices. These individual prices do not reflect labor costs since the animal is a joint product, so you can't adjust the quantities produced independently from each other, it is the sum of prices of the sum of jointly produced parts (=the animal), which make you decide to raise more or fewer of them or to leave the business entirely.
>2) Labor is not the source of all wealth, since nature provides plenty of that
The other poster agrees with that and it was pointless to bring it up.
>3)The value of the building is dictated by labor
Buildings indistinguishable from each other but located in different places fetch different rent. Land with nothing on it is worth something based on location. You can argue it comes from labor, but it's involving far more people and in very indirect ways compared to how described it.

I was asking if you yourself were either a butcher or a Poultry slaughterhouse worker. But I think you’ve answered your own question on account of the value being derived from processing the chicken as a whole rather than looking at all the individual parts. Which leads to the idea of wealth coming from natural sources in addition to human labor.
> it's involving far more people and in very indirect ways compared to how described it.
This doesn’t preclude it from involving labor and the character of labor under capitalism comprises of a bunch of people directly or indirectly working together in order to create a commodity, but ownership of productive forces and surpluses being a wholly private phenomenon.

I don't think people buy a single chicken liver, they usually buy a bunch. I don't see why a single chicken liver wouldn't just be a proportion of the sum of the chicken as a whole.

This. Capitalists are just fighting each other over new markets, taking sides is irrelevant if not counterproductive. Also, economic growth (as GDP growth) is an imperative of the capitalist economy, which can't sustain itself without. It's thereby a dogma among the ruling class, who tries to paint it green or sustainable or whatever to deal with the malcontents. Questioning a capitalist tenet such as growth can be a doorway toward a more materialist understanding of the world.

Leftists seem to speak of these intelligence agencies as all-knowing, all-powerful entities that can squash any political movement they don't like and overthrow any government they don't like. They also allegedly control all US media outlets (except maybe Grayzone, but they may be controlled by Chinese or Russian intelligence agencies instead) and all US political organizations (including ostensibly socialist orgs like DSA and CPUSA). How much power do these agencies actually have?

t. fed or literal schizo

they can't consistently deanonymize you over tor. they still use and need subpoenas to get certain information from companies. the police are extensively funded but that doesnt mean theyre always extensive - most of that goes to expensive toys, not more cops and information. And sometimes there's consequences, it's what they fear more than anything. If we give in to the idea that they can get away with anything, we're going to let them out of cynicism. They are frequently found out and tried, just it's rare for them to be successfully outed. But its getting more common.

Theyre human, their ability to hack shit is only as good as the best hackers' ability to hack shit. Thankfully there are still black hats selling what they know and white hats telling us whats vulnerable. Literally you can know how to get around all of the stuff they are said to do. No, they dont have a super tiny camera in your apartment. They aren't using a rotating box method to follow you when you drive. When someone looks at you funny on the street its just a person looking at you funny. They can only catch signals you transmit. They can only hack shit by any vulnerabilities exposed over the internet or by literally going in you house and taking it apart and fucking with it.

Paranoia is paralyzing, preparedness is necessary

but also yeah they have a total handle on the major media outlets, they can ddos tf out of anyone they want, they can frame you, any cop can arrest you for anything and hold you for investigation, or you can be charged with high bail and put away for years before being found innocent. They have journalists in pay. They probably also have authors in pay. They have basically total control over their representation in the media, including huge blockbusters. They astroturf the internet. There's also a huge grey area where fed bleeds into private groups. It happens between intelligence agencies and private security/mercs, and more and more cops are getting paid "compensation for their extra effort" as a way for companies to literally have local PD on their payroll. The deep state is inseparable from conservative think tanks, secret meetings/events, weirdass church groups, etc. They have all the money they could need, and all the tries at getting it right, whatever theyre trying to do.

Basically Post too long. Click here to view the full text.
