Why the hell are birthrates on the decline fucking everywhere? Even in africa the major causation of high birthrates is low access to contraceptives and abortion and even then their birthrates are on the general decline every year… it's not even like humanity hasn't had worse periods to have kids than now but seemingly enough no ones fucking and I'm worried about becoming a single father with 1 adopted son because of this retarded shit…

in general, birthrates are inversely correlated with prosperity. it is the very fact that most of the world is seeing a moderate increase in prosperity which is causing birthrates to fall.
the exception is the west, but the west is a special case. in the developing world one major incentive to have children is because nobody else will care for you in your old age. now, in the west there is generally a state pension and welfare state to fall back on.

In such conditions, child was literally a labourer that you could keep for free on only subsistance level upkeep. As Capitalist and Socialist institutions killed the traditional domestic economy, this ceased to be the case and children no longer provide an economic benefit to parents. All that is left are ideological pro-natal beliefs or personal love for your partner, or desire to leave behind offspring. Here in India fertility rates are very low(south India) where women have more freedom and education, in sharp contrast to states(BIMARU) with high fertility rates where women are basically treated as baby ovens relegated to kitchen and bedroom.
