Bear in mind close to no one supports these people and the only person who does so unambiguously has a very unorthodox approach to them viewing more allegorically.

The reason you will see left wing people support them is that despite being highly reactionary and close to a black version of the Christian Identity movement they are hostile to the US government and do a disproportionate amount of community work and charity within the black community.

Given the weakness of the left generally in the US and the natural desire to avoid attacking a minority group who arent directly harming the left there is much desire or need to be hostile to them.

Just chipping in, they do not follow Sunni Islam. Most notably they believe that one of their leaders (Fard Muhammad) was Allah incarnated as a human (essentially a christian version of Islam that rejects the key doctrine of tawhid/ the unity of God) and in practice they reject the seal of the prophets by claiming one of their other leaders as a post Muhammad messenger of God. Likewise they take a very dim view of the Hadith and dont treat them as a central part of the religion.
