>>399615Yes, that's true: the elites recognized that an intellectually empowered working class was highly dangerous so now they utilize three or four different methods to dampen said threat:
1) Defunding or privatizing the education system so that more people slip through the gaps and don't get what they need.
2) Keeping watch over the best and brightest as they ascend school rankings, and offering them rewards (monetary, companionship, prestige, etc.) or threats (blackmail, fake scandals, etc.) to keep them in line. The smartest are the most dangerous so they should be either bribed or threatened to stay in line - there are occasional dissenters but the majority are either too happy with their elite position or too scared to fight back.
3) Funding trivial entertainment on a mass and affordable scale. Organized televised sports, game consoles, phones, ipads, etc. they all have the ulterior purpose of shortening attention spans, distracting people from thinking about their situation, etc.
4) In case there are any autists who would still like to learn and are inherently paranoid to the point that they do not trust mainstream narratives - flood all information sources with an avalanche of competing narratives so that even when someone is looking into a topic they no longer know which source to trust or what piece of evidence to weigh higher than others.
However all this ignores the larger point, that is: the fact that so much effort has to be expended in this way to divert so many potential would-be revolutionaries is proof that said education and said learning is worth defending.
