>>399221Yeah, lots of jews came in the postwar period to Argentina, Peron even recognized Israel instantly, yet the jewish community was kind of opposed to him, with the
Organizacion Israelita Argentina set up by the government against the older
Delegacion de Asociaciones Israelitas Argentinas, so yeah, in general he tried to woo the jews and wasn't anti semitic despite his fascist sympathies.
Oh yeah, forgot to say that, Peronism in general lacks a racial component, the race stuff being generally a thing of the opposition, the cabecita negra or negro accusation that was thrown at them by the upper and middle classes
The problem was that in the 40s the communist party was too much influenced by Soviet realpolitik, so the aliance with US/UK imperialism dictated they had to accomodate with Sociedad Rural and other oligarchical entities, so did the socialists, who for much of their history had been proponents of free exchange and other shitty positions, so while a coalition of these two + the radicals had the backing of the US ambassador against the
fascism of peronism, they had potential but fucked up of sheer opportunism and carousing with porky, for example in a luna park rally with both communist leader Codovilla and oligarch slavedriver Santamarina
I got all of this by reading J Posadas
On peronism funny thing the first thing he mentions as a positive of peronism is that he could release his Trot newspaper, Posadas believed workers would demand concessions from Peron that because of his bourgeois nationalist character would be unable to comply, so either he would turn to the left like Castro or flee, he ended up doing the latter, justifying himself by claiming that it would have ended in a bloodbath.
Posadas believes he pussied out doing that and that he cucked the revolution.
Forgot the Female vote, he also did that.
So yeah this guy is 50/50 in my opinion. quite okay but it would have been better if he died in 1972 and Campora didn't have to hold new elections for him.
