It is important that citizens of any society develop self preservational and minor trade skills in order to not just build the revolution but to be able to maintain society and their local communities when crises hit. Feel free to share information on various skills you have in this infodump thread

Not just that, but lower the division of labor (this what you suggest is lower division of labor) is what communist society is supposed to be, or simply it is human nature. When a worker can write a differential equation and an engineer can build something from wood. This does not imply lower productivity, as an example: 1 engineer and 9 workers is unlikely more productive than 10 engineer-workers.

But this is a waste of time under capitalism, no one will pay a programmer for his construction skills. Thus capitalism is high division of labor. So under capitalism non paid work is seen just as a hobby and there is hobby section.

It may be confusing and may look offtopic, but IMO it is one of the important themes. Usually only private property is mentioned as evil, but private property is just a side of division of labor.
You can remove private property and still push for more bullshit jobs, i.e. high division of labor, for example, this socialism will not live long.

Makes sense, most labour that builds at least a functioning society modern or not modern requires relatively little skill

>1 engineer and 9 workers is unlikely more productive than 10 engineer-workers.
Especially because 10 engineer-workers can each design a solution for a problem and then decide which one is best, or they can split the labor of engineering among them over multiple projects. Having experience building also helps you engineer better and vice versa.

division of labor happens because people would die before you trained them to do everything.

Learning to live independently is as simple as just spending a few hours away from city🅽🅸🅶🅶🅴🆁🆂 to go explore nature and set up camps and watch towers. Inevitably you'll learn on your own how to utilise simple tools like hammers and knifes along with being able to understand where there is and isnt danger. Humans are naturally self preservational, industrial societies comprise that lifestyle

A shovel can be used
To dig farmland
To dig holes
To dig roads
To dig away mud and unwanted substances
And mine minor metals
