The problem is cities op
Humans are naturally self preservational and were evolved to survive in groups no more than 30, the problem is cities is it turns humans into a commodity and as a city grows larger and population densities increase along with it the effects start growing more severe, humans starting off as individuals that are capable of using basic tools like a hammer, shovel, pickaxe, axe and knife along with understanding the most basics of farming and hunting being turned into proles dependent on the fruits of industrial society with a need to whore themselves on the job market to survive, stories of the poor turning towards organized crime simply to feed themselves on a consistent basis, mass riots and outbreaks of incivility and violence over minor events, people murdering each other over social status or place of origin within neighboring cities. It's not healthy none of it is and as industrial society grows and the rise of urbanism with it, global dissatisfaction, drug addiction and mental illness will naturally skyrocket with it. Oh well…
