Speaking of Falun Gong, just a little public service announcement for those unaware.
If you live in America, or possibly elsewhere, you've probably seen numerous ads for this thing called Shen Yun Performing Arts. Like, they're all over the place depending on where you are. From the vague information given, one gets the impression that it's some kind of Broadway quality play/cultural exhibit that features a synthesis of Chinese culture throughout the ages. What you will instead get is a bizarre and high production piece of Falun Gong propaganda. Chinese history and culture is reinterpreted according to what the cult believes in, and you will witness such marvels as verses about how homosexuality and atheism is destroying the west, aliens inhabiting the earth before mankind, and the main characters getting crushed beneath a red tidal wave with the head of Karl Marx on top of it. I shit you not.
This shit is quite well funded, and due to it relying heavily on volunteers and low wages manages to continually turn a profit, though Shen Yun's most common audience tends to be those who are unaware of the nature of what they're about to watch. So if any of your friends or family are thinking about seeing it, taken in by the vague advertising, please do them a favor and inform them that they're funding a racist UFO cult.
