 No.369948

In the last few weeks:

>Food prices skyrocketing

>Political standstill impedes any single party from gaining the upper hand against the others
>Gas prices keep growing, to the point that the army itself has little to no gas left
<Now power stations are starting to shut down

It seems clear as of now that the country has already collapsed economically and its headed for a political reckoning of some kind (and a violent one grows likely), so I'm making this thread for anons to follow what will happen in the coming days/weeks.

Feel free to post anything you can find on Lebanese situation here.
Also post some sources if you can.

>Hit by the collapse of Lebanon's economy, the army has started offering rides on its helicopters to finance their maintenance, a measure of the depth of the financial troubles facing the country
shit's fucked brehs

also i'm going to pay attention to Hezbollah, Nasrallah claimed that Iran could bail out the entirety of Lebanon if the govt so wished, of course this would tie the country to Iran beyond just Hezbollah which means Israel would sweat even harder

yeah they're not doing so hot but Iran recently signed a deal with China, so we'll see if it's enough to offset US sanctions (it probably isn't), it'd be pretty funny if China was able to indirectly bail out Lebanon

From what i could understand their economy was always on shaky grounds. Then it came the Caesar sanction against Syria, practically crushing their main avenue for trade, and then "casually" the Beirut port explosion

They're weak. They hold no seats in parliament if I remember correctly from last time I checked. I've heard that the sectarian rules upon which the Lebanese political system is based makes it harder for a secular, non-sectarian party like the communists to succeed. They have moderate support spread out over many areas of the country whereas other parties' bases of support tend to be concentrated in particular areas (Hezbollah and the Amal movement have strong support from the Shi'ites in the south of Lebanon for example). This is just based on some casual googling and shit I did a while ago though so I could be completely wrong.

This is probably what I was trying to recall, from wikipedia

>The Lebanese Communist Party is one of the few Lebanese parties that have affiliations throughout different sects and regions. It is present in most Lebanese districts, but its strength is greatest in South Lebanon. This structure gives the party a national presence, but at the same time weakens its representation in the local and central governmental bodies including municipalities and parliament.

America owns Israel and Lebanon.
The first by military aide, the later by financial aide and debt.

They will restructure the two company/countries into a single unit and cut surplus staff.

Then they will demand credit on the world stage for their generosity and humanitarianism.

Mark my words.

Lebanon will become Palestine 2 electric boogalloo and the Israeli right wing elite will like it because they have no policy platform left once Palestine is gone to mollify their peasants with. Any screaming by the lumpenprole right will be silenced with the following policy.

Free houses forever. Just take them.
