What do we think of the doordash strike lads?
I'm participating, but I also just do it as a second job for beer money, is the gig economy something that can be meaningfully fought against, or are gig workers doomed to be slaves to an uncaring computer algorithm?

It is already taking a hit because of the unemployment benefits being better than most retail and shit wages. Also why retail is having a hard time finding labor. All you ever needed was workers to demand higher wages, but when they have an actual option then they will stand up for themselves. If they dont they’ll continue to be crushed and work the bottom of the barrel

He is in the church of eugenism, where he studies his faith. He's like a priest of the wick, a father of the mentally ill, the blessed ignorance preacher, he earns (you)s, he eats attention, and craves for your reply.
You can't give him a job, because he already has one, you can't give him an education, because he needs none, you can't tell him a word because he already owns the word.
Eugenics is his life, and life is eugenic with him.

Pro-Sanders group Our Revolution rebranding into ‘pragmatic progressives’

https://apnews.com/article/joe-biden-climate-change-election-2020-campaign-2016-3c6a4d7b4ff078f5eced9e389ac0f644

Stinging from the disappointment of Bernie Sanders’ loss in the 2016 Democratic presidential primary, supporters pumped millions into the powerful advocacy group Our Revolution to keep the progressive fight alive and prepare for another swing at the White House.

But after another defeat in 2020, the 79-year-old Vermont senator is unlikely to run for president a third time. And the organization centered on his fiery brand of politics is undergoing a rebranding.

Rather than insisting on “Medicare for All” — Sanders’ trademark universal, government-funded health care plan — or the climate-change-fighting Green New Deal, Our Revolution is focusing on the more modest alternatives endorsed by President Joe Biden.

THE SOLUTION FOR AMERICA IS A VANGUARD WORKERS PARTY, A LITERAL AMERICAN BOLSHEVIK PARTY

We have the problem to solve, we have the solution,we have enthusiasm and tons of young people willing to work for a change.

But we don't have enough organization, and we don't have a proper leader like Lenin and no JD is not like Lenin

Lenin spent every single day for like 3 decades completely dedicated to the revolutionary cause 24/7 he was either organizing, agitating, writing (books, articles and newspapers) or escaping from the Tsarist police.

Needless to say guys like him are born once every 100 years or so (the last one of his kind was Che)

JD is influential and all, but saying that he's completely dedicated to OUR revolution is complete BS.

Yep, Jimmy isn’t a writer or going to the lengths that Lenin went to by being part of a mass organization and creating his own faction within this mass org and taking over by charisma and his writing and debating skills. The Russian SD party originally had all these factions in it and the Bolsheviks came from that party. Anyone to be as great an organizer and mass worker like Lenin would at most closest be someone who is part of the DSA, builds a faction, takes over leadership by necessity and just great argumentative skill that Lenin had and winning the greater masses of the organization over, that would be the closest thing to what Lenin was in the US.

But JD is none of that, he’s a simp for The Peoples Party despite the fact that it’s not specifically a leftist party but a broad tent party with leftists in it but also libertarians.

The cultish fixation on a charismatic male leader might be a pitfall. It's like Great Man Syndrome. We don't have the Great Man so what do we do? We're lost! But there are a lot more women involved in left-wing activism today and I don't think they go for that like the groups in the 60s did with Huey P. Newton or Mark Rudd.

It's not that those men were bad (well Rudd was not so good), but things have changed.

Was thinking about Machiavelli and "The Prince" as someone who can fulfill their function as historical agent and see their "subjects" through trials. But I think the modern "Prince" is more like a collective – like the party – with the concrete individual emerging to a position of prominence during times of particular intensity and focus. Xi Jinping is an example because he's a male leader and I think he could be a Great Man of the times. But he wouldn't exist without the party in the first place and it existed before he was even born. But I think the world has entered a period of very rapid change and the intensity of his persona is a reflection of the circumstances or something, and his being there functions to get everyone focused so they don't get distracted and lead the people through these series of major crises. Xi as a person is not even that important, he's like a symbol.
