I wouldn't be to quick to judge americas foreign policy. Admittedly it would be better off if the country just stayed isolationist but at the same time it's also preventing conventional warfare like the Iraq iran war from occurring again, along with when you consider that modern militant groups are often times political terrorists that would've tried destabilizing their own countries even if they didnt recieve funding from the west like tigrays fighters,or salafists across the muslim world
