Reminder he won his re-election by a Historic landslide because he protected workers, brought about great increases in prosperity, increased benefits for the old and poor ,ended foriegn wars(and the military draft) while ratcheting down the cold war.

As well as expanding civil rights (Lowered voting age from 21 to 18, intergrated southern schools, mandated funding for womens sports , allowed the full passage of roe vs wade ,ended forced schooling of native americans and returned historic amounts of land to them)

They destroyed nixons legacy because he was what marx called a bonaparitst. Against sections of the elites and more interested in his own populatiy than the intrests of the elite class overall. There is no presdent who the press has more sought to denigrate and drag through the mud than Nixon and that's because he was the last American president not totally loyal to elite interests.

Obviously before anyone spergs out, I'm not saying he was 'good' or a socalist. He was a vicious anti-communist and reactionary. However due to his place at odds with the elite class, he has been denegrated unfairly despite having the best record of any president post fdr.
