Atheism bordering on anti theism.

>the religion/etc. you were raised with

Eastern Orthodoxy. I live in a former commie country and both of my parents never really gave a fuck about religion and only started doing so after the war because it was getting shilled by nationalists. I was being taugh religion at school but I started being cynical about it from the getgo because I was always bombarding my teacher with questions of why this why that… And I ended up really not liking the answers and was terrified by the concept of hell. And the teacher didn't like me either because of that. So whenever I went to church with my mom I felt really awkward and was always getting an ugly vibe while in there. I just really didn't like the atmosphere of anything religious. It was when I was 13 that I heard about the whole atheism thing on the internet and slowly began despooking myself from religion. Now I'm militantly anticlerical and when I started Higschool, I had this Metal chick in my class and we would always debate about all and everything with our religion teacher (who was also really chill)

Tl;dr I disliked religion from the moment I learned about it but believed out of fear until I found out that atheism was popular and dropped it completely.

I don't have one, don't even consider myself atheist either. Just completely detached from the very question to the point religiousity / irreligion can't be used as a descriptor for me. Maybe you can ask about spirituality, on which case I am more agnostic - don't dismiss the possibility of an afterlive in some form or another, though the way I see it would have nothing to do with spiritualism and just be hidden material reality of the universe, but not really a believer in "the vibe energy" or whatever.

My church was all black. Every Christmas Eve, we'd have a gusano come and give a sermon. He would talk about Mary (lol) and accidentally say god damn, ass, bitch and shit then apologize immediately after. It was funny as shit. We never talked about it, I only (vaguely) remember a conversation when I was still young asking something about heaven and I think he explained that people have different opinions on whether it was real, and some occasional comments from mom that make me suspect he's agnostic or atheist as opposed to her. I actually coped pretty hard when I started realizing that christianity is bullshit.
I were too invested into it after years of regular going to church, hating on innocent people just because the religion says THEY BAD, guilt tripping myself over irrelevant shit while still allowing religious excuses for hate.
One of my childhood friends was an atheist and that helped me not think of atheism as ENEMY OF CHURCH WHO WANTS TO DESTROY US. I still thought of atheism as an enemy, but not as much.
Also, my OCD poked at all my copes and they couldn't "stick". It's like having a shitposter in your head who quotes the vulnerable parts of your post, says "lmao", debunks them using just your knowledge, refuses to post sojaks that would allow you to disregard him as just a shitposter, and appears every single time you feel doubt.

At my Christian retreat i went to church three times at day and sang christian songs (once a day isn't enough, let alone once a week). then i felt the presence of God, it was a strange peace that came over me. My family also felt this peaceful presence at their retreats. It's very subjective and hard to use as evidence, so i don't, but it was something.

Those were orders to the isrealites, not for gentiles. At least for the "slaves obey your masters" part it was to make the best of your situation, and also slavery in biblical times was different from slavery in America. You could buy your freedom, and it was to pay back debt. Jesus also abrogated some of what was commanded of in the Old testament.

They are not, the people is. Individuals are relatively powerless and can do absolutely nothing about anything without joining up with other individuals. Alone they are impotent, ignorant, but self-important and grandiose with the narcissism of individualistic ideology in capitalism.

>Mortals are powerful, arbiters of destiny.

Mortal men on their lonesome are no arbiters of anything let alone destiny, destiny is the arbiter of them until they come together as one to become THE arbiter of destiny, history and the world. Mortals are insipid bootstrap-pullers full of themselves who will never recognize the gifts the people bestowed upon them.

Individuals are born and killed, but the people is forever.

Thank you, I know. I am going to have to study Hegel and sacred scriptures of various religions to confirm this schizoism to have some sort of basis.
